As an Tax Operations Analyst you will be a part of Payment Operations within Global Supplier Services, managing indirect tax obligations arising from the firm's Accounts Payable activities (e.g., VAT, GST, US Sales & Use Tax and various withholding and reporting regimes globally), Employment Taxes resulting from payments of staff expenses as well as owning the US Personal Property Tax and US Sales & Use Tax compliance for the whole firm.
You will be also responsible for supporting any and all these functions as required.
Job responsibilities
- Reporting and performing reconciliations on financial transaction data, undertaking analysis and interpretation to identify and/or resolve breaks and issues which could have a tax impact
- Assist in the preparation of data for indirect tax and statutory filings, according to strict deadlines, to regulators across the globe.
- Supporting queries from and partnering with local and global tax and finance colleagues and 'line of business' stakeholders, to resolve issues and deliver a world class customer experience.
- Participate in a culture of continuous improvement with focus on improving processes & delivery efficiency.
- Work on projects to implement new technology, tax rules and regulations as necessary
- Ensure issues are raised / escalated promptly and ownership taken to drive through to resolution.
- Operate with a control focus, ensuring risks and dependencies are highlighted, with mitigation options presented.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Good analytical skills, a problem solver and logical thinker with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work with, and use, large amounts of data in an organized and effective manner.
- Strong verbal and written English language communication skills required with good interpersonal skills advantageous.
- Good MS Office suite skills (Excel, Word, Power Point). SharePoint and Alteryx knowledge are an advantage.
- Good time management and prioritization skills including the ability to work within strict deadlines.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Degree or significant previous equivalent work experience
- Functional understanding of indirect taxes to include employment taxes.
